asked. He's right about skewed priorities; just not in the way he intended.
Mr. LaPierre was talking to members of Congress, governors and state legislators. He proposed the NRA's answer to the Newtown shooting: armed guards in every school in America. He brought out former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Asa Hutchinson, who supposedly will lead the NRA's program.
"tell criminals" where they can prey. Add violent video Men Bag Prada games with names like "Kindergarten Killer." Toss in the media, which "act as enablers" for such violence. By all means, though, don't blame the country's gun culture. Don't blame the pervasiveness of weapons and ammunition.
If armed school guards is the answer, why do countries without such guards have so many fewer such shootings? "How have our national priorities gotten so far out of order?" Mr. LaPierre Burberry Tote Overstock

Mr. LaPierre might seem as clueless and insensitive as Mr. Romney when he twice dismissed 47 percent of the country as moochers. But just as Mr. Romney was talking to a select few, Mr. LaPierre also was aiming at a certain audience and didn't care what others think.

NRA returns fire to protect its real constituents
School police in Palm Beach County already are armed. Their jobs take them throughout a campus during the school day. If someone armed like Adam Lanza and wearing body armor came onto campus at the farthest point from the police officer, the shooter could leave similar carnage to Newtown before the officer could respond. Mr. LaPierre noted that after the Virginia Tech University shooting in 2007 that left 27 students and five faculty members dead, he called for armed security on campus. Virginia Tech, though, had a police force, which mistakenly did not order a lockdown. The chief explained that they thought the shooter had been captured after Burberry Purses On Sale
The NRA wants to halt momentum toward national legislation on availability of firearms. We will avoid the term "gun control" because an estimated 270 million firearms already are in circulation. A common sense, public safety effort would focus primarily on better systems for keeping the criminal and the unstable from buying firearms, restrictions on military style weapons and large magazines and longer waiting periods, to prevent impulse purchases by those who want to kill others or themselves, and more availability of mental health services.
Finally, Mr. LaPierre accused politicians and the media of exploiting the Newtown massacre to further "demonize gun owners." Yet he was using the same tragedy to protect the NRA's real constituents: not its 4 million members but the makers of firearms and ammunition.
Notably, Mr. LaPierre, Mr. Hutchinson and NRA President David Keene took no questions. When you consider the many obvious problems with the NRA's change the story proposal and Mr. LaPierre's hypocrisy, their refusal is understandable.
